People are so crazy about Harry Potter all of a sudden. My Tumblr newsfeed is being invaded by all sorts of pictures related to it. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love Harry Potter. It’s great. I grew up reading the books and each time I read one, I wouldn’t put it down until I finished it (usually took me about a day or two). I remember when all the hype was about Harry Potter, but it happened each time a new book was released. Once the seventh came out and the series was over, the Harry Potter fever seemed to calm down. Until now… that the movie is being released. I think what bugs me about it now is that people don’t even care about the actual story. All they care about is the films, and the actors in it. Daniel Radcliffe is NOT Harry Potter. He’s merely some dude dressed in wizards’ robes. But the REAL Harry Potter, as well as the rest of the characters cannot be found anywhere except in our minds. And then there are those that call themselves diehard Potter fans, and say they know everything about it… when they haven’t read a single one of the books! They’ve only watched the movies. And if you’ve read the books, you know that the movies omit sooo many details from the plotline, so therefore, they clearly DON’T know everything there is to know about the series. And worse yet, there are those that say that they LOVE Harry Potter (meaning the movies) but they despise the books. They think the films are 10x better than the books. How dare they?! It’s so infuriating to hear. And this is why I think this Harry Potter craze going around is stupid, because most of those people, the wannabes, are the ones that are playing it up so much. Okay. Rant done. Continue whatever you were doing.
